More Snow in April?

Yesturday, I came home from work to quite a surprise. There looked like there had been about a 1/4 inch of snow all over our house. I had no idea what it was a first and Tyler was gone, well only for a minute. I was worried because the basement was like a cloud and smelled like exhaust. I was hoping he was not in the hospital or anything because it was awful. Tyler has been working diligently on a bathroom on our basement to be finished before the baby and had rented a gas powered concrete cutter, or thats my name for the tool. He didn't know it would do it, but it spread dust everywhere. The only space that seemed to be spared was the fridge because of the seal. It was in our cabinets, furniture, carpets, everywhere, what a disaster. I'm sure we will be cleaning dust up for days. It makes it hard to want to do a really good job when today he was using some jackhammer type stuff to get rid of the concretein between his cuts. It also helped my mood to see Tyler because to me he looked like Moses after seeing the burning bush, all white. At least it was able to wash off, and I wish I had a picture to show of that but he was already worn out and upset about the day. He is working hard and will show some of his progress soon.

Tyler's Article

Here is a chance for me to boast a little about my great husband. Back in the fall, Successful Farming magazine contacted us about doing a story on him and how he and his family are transitioning the farm. They sent a photographer and interviewer out to the farm back in October to take some pictures and research the story. They had to send some people out again to take more pictures and finish the article in February. Well after going over some drafts with them, the final story and article came out in the magazine last week. Since I don't know too many non farmers who get the magazine, here's the link to the story.

I think it came out well. I can't say it made me look like the typical farmers wife, but them again I am defintly not, so I accept that. Just to intice you a little more I included the opening picture. In the magazine it took up a whole 2 pages.

I just hope the article now means we are a success!

First Post

Welcome to our new blog!! I wanted to start a blog a while ago, but it just got put to the back, plus with as spacy as I have been lately, well that was a bad combo. Anyway, here it goes and I am excited that you stopped by to check it out. I hope it will be a fun way for you to keep up with the new things happening in our lives in little ole Kansas.

Just an little background reminder info. Tyler, a home grown Kansas boy, and Becky a true blue Pennsylvanian met in Myrtle Beach SC, fell in love and married in January 2003. We live in Ness City, Kansas, a very small town in western KS where Tyler farms and Becky works in special ed and at a grain elevator. Here is a picture of our abode.

In October we got the exciting news that we would be expecting our first child. The process of getting pregnant was longer and harder than planned, but to finally get the good news was such a blessing. Our little baby Girl will supposively be here at the beginning of June, so the time is clicking away. Soon we will put some pictures of our little ones nursury when we finally finish it. Here is a picture of our baby from an ultrasound back in January. We had another one done in March that was 3D but they said the pictures were expensive and they had to keep them for our record because the 3D was done for medical reasons. They said there was a possibility for a clef palate, but the 3Dshowed that was definitly not the case. However, the scan took over an hour because she would not take her legs down from her face for anything. We already know she is quite a fiesty one.

It is so good to have our first post up and we hope it will be one of a many. Thanks again for stopping by.
