Young Farmers and Ranchers

Recently we have been on the road conference hopping. The first was to a Kansas Ag Research conference that Tyler went to. Me and Eve spent time at the hotel doing a little swimming and shopping. Then we had to go on to another town and another confernce. This time to a Farm Bureau Conference for young farmers and ranchers. We had a good time and got to see some people we knew and meet new ones. Here is a picture of our little farmer in her overalls. I wish the pictures would have turned out better because it was so cute in the overalls. The bottom is a picture of her playing in her peapod that we took and she slept in in the hotel. It worked well but she was happy to be back in her bed.

Our little Pebbles

I have been trying to figure out different things that I can do with Eve's hair. I had to give it a little cut in the front so that it wouldn't be over her eyes. Our neighbor Caitlin brought over for Eve a package of little baby scrunchies so we could try to put it back. It took a lot of trying to get her to stay still, but she was able to have a little ponytail, Pebbles Flintstone style. It is growing on us and it really keeps her hair out of her face and in her way. In the pictures you may have to look close, but can see her two little teeth on the bottom and lots of drool. Lastly I put a video of her and Caitlin playing. Caitlin hides behind the glass door and jumps around and Eve finds it utterly histerical. I love little baby laughs and she at times in the video is just busting up. Enjoy!

Please Check This Out

Thanks to my friend Jenny, I have discovered a blog of an amazing Christian family that could really use our prayers. I will give you a little of their back story, but you can read all about them on their blog. The couple's name is Nate and Tricia and she suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. She was preparing for a double lung transplant when they found out she was pregnant. They decided against doctor's requests to keep the baby. As her health diminished she was forced to have the baby at 24 weeks, which was about a week ago. They both have been in critical condition, but both are progressing. I have been so touched by reading their blog and offering them up in prayer. I hope that you will do the same. Here's the link http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/ Thanks

7 Months Old

Another month has flown by and now little Eve is 7 months old. On Friday she was acting extremely fussy and it took some time to see that there was a oh so tiny little piece of white sticking out from her lower gum. It is very slowly starting to come up more and now you can see a little white of the one next to it. Maybe it will be up by the end of the week. She is also still talking up a little storm especially at church, it seems to be her favorite place. She is eating a lot of different babyfoods, but still doesn't seem convinced and would rather still just breastfeed. She loves playing with all her new toys. Her favorite is a shape sorter. No she can not sort the shapes, but loves to eat them, explore each one and knock them down if we set them up. Another child who was here tried to take them away and she screamed to get them back. I guess we will have to work on sharing. She loves to practice her standing, but has not figured out how to get there. She is now seeing the good in being on her tummy. She can get her backsideup and moving, but has not figured out the arm part. It is funny to see, but she gets so frustrated. She is doing so well with her sleep training. She goes to bed at 7:30pm and sleeps until about 8am. I do feed her twice in that period because she is a skinny minny and weighs about 14lbs which is small. (she is in the 75% for height but only 10% for weight). Her doctor says she can eat about as much as she wants but its not much. She does do good taking 3 naps a day (one for an hour and a half and the next an hour and the last a half hour). She still doesn't go down without screaming, but I think that some of me she has in her. Hope you enjoy!

New Smile

After we got back from our Christmas vacation, Eve decided to break out a new, very gummy smile. It makes me just smile so hard back at her and she will even do it almost on cue when I try to take her pic and she is happy. Here are some of her big new grin.
Oh and I forgot to add, that one of these pics we are going to enter in the Regis and Kelly baby contest. I have not quite decided yet. And I know there are lots of other cute babies out there that should be entered in the contest too, so do so quick because it has to be in by Friday. (Sorry but the babies must be at least 6 months old I believe).

Christmas Catch-up

Over the Christmas holiday, we were able to go to the east coast and spend Christmas in PA. Before we left, we wanted to give Eve a chance to open her first Christmas presents from us. She was able to get a wagon, actually her father's old wagon that he refurbished for her. We also got her a gift called a little superstar sing along stage. Its a mirror with lights that shine down and has instruments she can hit and they play song. The first is a picture of her opening it and her excitement playing with it. I was so excited she seemed to enjoy it as much as we hoped.

Then we were off to spend Christmas in PA. Eve is still a good plane traveler, and we had only small hiccups in our travel (our luggage came after us). We had such a good time with everyone that we were able to see. Eve was a little overwhelmed at all the love and attention she recieved. It was a great trip, but we were happy to get home. Then we got to have Christmas with Tyler's family. Unfortunity, I left my camera in PA so I do't have any pics of that yet, but it was fun too.

Here we are on the couch, Mason (Kate's BF), sis Kate, sis Natalie, Becky, Tiffany (Gregg's GF) brother Gregg

Eve Showing of her Christmas dress. Thanks Great Grandma Grace for making it.

Opening a present on Christmas morning.
Here is the Harpel (Becky's mom's) side of the family doing our group crazy shot.
It is nice to be back on schedule. Yesturday was our 5th year anniversary, and it was nice to celebrate that achievement. I (Becky) am excited to be getting in to all the political things happening with the country and love talking about it. Tyler is a good listener unless I keep telling him the same thing over and over. I was happy with the Iowa results (I like Mike and some others too) and look forward to an intersting few months. Anyway I hope this caught you up on us and keep checking back in the new year.
