O Christmas Tree

Sorry for the lack of blogs recently. I will have to make it one of my new year resolutions to blog more frequently. I'm sure people may have missed Eve's cute face. So anyway, two weeks ago we went out and got our first "real" tree, meaning not an artificial one. Since we are spending Christmas here is Kansas, Tyler thought and was right, that it would help my holiday spirit. So we drove over an hour to the tree farm, all of us in a non-extended cab pick-up to cut down our perfect tree. The weather was so nice that day and Eve enjoyed running throughout the trees. So Tyler cut down our tree and we drove home and enjoyed dinner at Braums on the way back. In case you have never heard of Braums (I didn't until I lived here), its a fast food place that makes hard ice cream and milkshakes. So on the drive home we enjoyed some ice cream and Christmas music.

Later, Eve and I tackled the job of putting the lights on the tree. She enjoyed playing with the board with the lights wrapped on it. The pics just turned out so neat of her with the lights. I actually don't have a picture of our finished tree. We actually don't have any ornaments on the tree because we knew that Eve would spend all her time playing with them. We used some ribbon on the tree and it does still look good.

Phantastic Phillies

I am so excited!!! I am overwhelmed with happiness and emotion over my Phillies finally winning the World Series. As most of you that know me can attest, I am a huge Phillies and Eagles fans and have put my heart and soul into them. Well until today (yeah) I have never got the chance to see either win a world championship. I was about 5 weeks gestation last time the Phillies won, so this I was close last time and this time I get to have a big celebration. Even all the way out here in Kansas. And I will admit that the emotion of it all got me all choked up. I just wish I could be in my beloved PA and go to the parade. Maybe my sister Kate will go and cheer for me.

Halloween Preview

So our little Eve is going to dress up as a chick for Halloween. The weather here has been bad for the last few days so I am glad I did a test run of her costume when it was nice and warm outside. She was one happy chick.

Swinging

Eve really loves going down to the park and playing on the swings. It is fun to go down to the park especially with all the nice weather we have been having. Here she is enjoying some time on her favorite swing at the park.

Another K-State Picture

While we were at the K-State game, the fan zone area had some player cutouts to get pictures taken with. They took a picture of Eve and put it on the website. Here is it.

Eve Talking

Here is a video of Eve talking. I am telling her animals and she is telling about the sounds they make. She loves this little game that we play. It started with a cow and sheep and has just multiplied. She wants to learn more, but it gets hard to find animals that we can match with a normal sound. Right now she does a cow, sheep, dog, cat, duck, monkey (her favorite) and lion. We are working on a pig and a bear right now. And just a quick shoutout to SD for their photomemory cards. The card I took this video with accidently went through two cycles in the washing machine and is working like nothing ever happened. What a great surprise.

So recently I have heard that facebook is the place to be and since Tyler was already on there, thought why not. But my space is sad now because I need some friends. I am trying to take some time and find everyone, but please if you are on, send me a request. PLEASE!

One Year Photos

So I haven't posted anything in a little while. Unfortunitly my computer is temporarily not working. The power supply died, Tyler ordered a new one online trying to save money, it came all the way from Hong Kong and did not work. So I sent that back and have not been able to access my pics or anything. I did put in the pictures I had taken of Eve at Walmart. We have no picture places around here except some very expensive private photographers besides Walmart which is an hour away. Anyway, we got a really nice lady and with Mom and Natalie's help, Eve smiled and we got some nice photos. Check them out!

Harvest Time

Its Harvest Time here in Kansas and the wheat is doing really well. The Lord is blessing us with a great crop and we are very thankful. While my mother and sister Natalie were here, we went out and took Eve to the field to ride in the tractor with Tyler. She had a great time and we took some pictures of her there. Enjoy.

Bath Time Fun

Here is a short video I took while Eve was in the bath yesturday. You can see how she goes back and forth and is trying to swim in the tub. It just cracks me up. And yes the video is PG for baby nudity.

Father's Day - Then and Now

So it was Tyler's 2nd Father's Day and I thought it would be fun to show a picture from last year and one from Sunday. How things have changed. Happy Father's Day Tyler and to our Dads.

One Year Old

Well Eve is now officially one year old and I can not believe how fast this first year has gone. She just continues to blossom right in front of our eyes. She is talking up a storm and repeats lots of words that we say to her. This morning she said "waffle", mainly because its her favorite breakfast. One of my favorite things she says is monkey sounds. We ask her what a monkey says and she opens her mouth really big and says "oohh oohh" type sounds. I love it. She is not yet walking, but loves to be walked around and we are hoping in the next few weeks to see those coveted first steps. She is an extreme water lover and I can't wait until we start swimming lessons in 2 weeks. We have been going to the pool a couple times a week and Eve loves splashing around and doesn't mind going under. We end up spending over an hour in the pool because any less and she throws a fit. And one of the new things she is doing is loving on her things and people more. She loves to give hugs and open mouth kisses. She spends a good amount of time loving on her favorite pink monkey. Someone asked if she was chewing on it,but she really was just giving it a nice long kiss. I am working on teaching her to close her mouth. Here are some recent pics and some from yesturday. Warning picture overload.

Enjoying her cake!

I was tagged!

I am so sorry that it has been soooo busy here that I have not updated in a while. And in that while I was tagged three times by Bridget, Breanna, and Nicole. Sorry it took so long for me to get to this.

So here are the rules as to what I had to do and if you are one of my lucky seven mentioned below then you need to do the following, too:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog .

Here are my seven
1. If you know me well, you would quickly come to learn that I am one of the biggest Philadelphia Eagles fan out there. I think I bleed green. I also love the Phillies.
2. I have a public communication degree with a history minor and before my plans invloved moving to Kansas, I dreamed of being a speech writer or a lobbyest.
3. I recently decided to start my own home based business with Arbonne International. I lvoe the products and am love doing the business.

A Girl and her Wagon

As I am writing this, poor little Eve is off napping because she is pretty sick right now. She got some GI infection and it is giving her diaper issues, if you know what I mean. Please pray she gets better soon because she does not have the weight to lose. She was only 16lbs 4 oz today at the dr and she is already 11 months old, so she is quite the lightweight. She is on some medication, and the brat diet, but she is not eating very much. Hopefully the sleeping will help and she will slowly get better.

So I am going to post some happier times earlier in the week. Tyler refurbished his old wagon for Eve and we gave it to her for Christmas. Until this week, she has not really been big enough to sit and hold on and let me feel like she was safe enough for it. Now that she it, we take her for rides and she loves it. She throws a fit everytime we take her out. I even read the newspaper the other day and just let her sit in it because she was just enjoying it. Her are some of her in the wagon and some with her little friend Sabryn who was been spending time with us while her regualr babysitter is sick.

My First Mother's Day

It was so strange to get up on Mother's Day and feel included in a very special group. Last year although I was 8 months pregnant, Tyler made it very clear that I was on the verge of joining this group, but not yet there. This year I greeted the day at 9am which is very late for me these days and a very pleasant surprise. I think the big surprise of that was his ability to hold her off not nursing for that long. Then she went down for her morning nap and Tyler had laid out my usual cereal and spoon for me. A small but appreciated gesture. And Tyler and Eve got me a very nice card and the promise of a new bathing suit, which I am grateful I am allowed to pick out for myself. Then after church we went to lunch with Tyler's parents and grandparents. And we spent most of the day relaxing and cleaning around the house. And I got to spend some time talking to my wonderful mother. It was a nice first day and now I have my expectations up for next year. Maybe the cereal will come with the milk already in it.

To Natalie

Here is something fun I am doing to celebrate Natalie. As her family can attest, Natalie is the queen of taking fun pictures of herself. So I was taking pictures of Eve and fooling around and took some pics of myself that actually turned out. So here's my silly pics. And thanks to everyone that thinks that me and Nat look a lot alike. It had happened since she was born and I am proud of that fact.Trying to wink, I know its sad

And don't forget some close-up of Eve

Look at her!

Way before I had Eve, I had my first baby, my baby sister Natalie (just sisters, people use to always ask if she was mine but No I did not birth her at 11). Anyway, on Friday, Natalie went to a formal at her school and looked amazing. It makes me so sad that I could not be there to see it in person, but she said it was such a great night and her and her date Andrew had a great time and make a very cute couple.
Here is our soon to be sister-in-law Tiffany, Natalie, and Tiff's sister and dear friend to Natalie, Brittney. What beautiful ladies.

Eve's favorite person

I guess what they say is true, a girl's first love is her father. Eve loves Tyler so much. After her afternoon nap, she starts anticipating his arrival home. She loves to climb up (with some help) onto the couch, so she can see our wedding picture on the mantle and smile and coo at Daddy. I try to ask her if she notices I am in the picture, but all her responses sound like gagas and then long stretches about Daddy. I know she loves me because she has yet to give him kisses like me, but she is becoming such a daddy's girl. Here is a video with her mentioning her favorite guy. And yes she can say mama, just didn't feel like it in the video. And sorry you will have to look sideways as I can't figure out how to turn it.

Eve's New Toy

Eve is lucky to have lots of people that care about her. Our friends, the Foos, who have three adoreable girls gave Eve one of their favorite toys now that they have outgrown it. It is a princess walk and ride toy. Eve loves being pushed around on it, especially when her Dad pretends she's driving a racecar, although she is so small her feet don't touch the floor on both sides. She is slowly starting to walk behind it, but when she pulls up, she is heavy and it tips. So with some help, she can get going, but then realizes she will get whereever she wants quicker crawling, so does that instead. Here are some pics of her and her new favorite thing. And BTW, pleaes pray that we have save travel when we take the youth group kids from church to Denver for a conference this weekend and yes Eve is going too.
