Less than 2 Weeks!

It is amazing that as I sit here, our little baby is due in less than 2 weeks. I still feel like I have so much to do to get ready, but know she will come when she wants. I am hoping in will be soon, as I am getting more uncomfortable each day. I wonder if they make shoes in double wide because thats what my swollen feet will need soon. Like I was saying, I will be happy if she came anytime now, but the DR thinks she will be pretty punctual. At least the nursery is now pretty much done. Here are a few pictures.

The verse on the wall is Nehemiah 8:10. The crib bumper is not in there yet but will match the curtain. I love the material. We will put letters with her name on them above the crib when she is born and we settle on a final name.

Adventures in Plumbing

I'm so sorry that it has been a while since I posted. I kept telling myself I was doing it and I guess well I wasn't. This past two weeks have been quite a crazy time in our bathroom life. Tyler redid all the 80 year old sewage lines from our upstairs bathroom before he would do the new ones in the basement under the old ones. Well he worked really really hard on it but there were some bumps along the way. At one point we did not have anything but the kitchen sink and that was the way it almost stayed for one night. At least Tyler was able to get the bathtub drain working because that was all we had that night and a very pregnant woman needs something. Well all that is finished with the sewage line because then we were days without a washing machine and to get thru it you have to walk thru the wall studs. To say the least, I can barely fit but we are making it work and hopefully getting done. We know that my mom is coming on the 6th and hope to have so kind of bathroom there or at least something kinda clean and not dusty.

Baby Shower

This weekend we were blessed to have some friends throw us a baby shower. I tried to convince Tyler to let us make it coed, but he wanted nothing to do with that. Anyway it was held at church and was very nice. My friend Michelle made a wonderful cake and if you know me, there is nothing better to me than great icing and it was. We are so blessed and now our only problem is trying to fiqure out what we still need. Here is a picture from the shower. I can not get used to seeing pictures of me with my growing belly. I complain about being large, but Tyler is encouraging and just reminds me its just pregnancy and for a great reason.

Here is a picture taken about a week and a half ago. If I only still felt that small. The baby is growing and growing and so I am. I am glad that there is only a little over a month left and hey maybe less.
Just a quick update on Elijah. He made it through his surgury, even thought there was so touch and go moments and there have been even more the past two days. Please keep on praying!

Needed Prayer

I wrote the other day about baby Elijah and his continued struggles. Well the last 2 days have been really hard on him and he keeps having more and more struggles. He will be going in for more surgury tomorrow (Saturday) as he is in critical condition and sedated to try to keep him stable. So please pray for him and his parents during these trying times. Their prayers are that God is reaching others thru this time and their son, what amazing examples of Christians they are. Thank you for the prayers

Baby Elijah

Here is a picture of our friends Joel and Judy Fitzgerald's baby boy Elijah. Eljah was born on February 6th. He is quite a fighter because he has already been through so much in his life. He came in the world in a usual way but started having problems when he as a few days old. He had a brain bleed and they ended up finding out he has hemophilia B and the most severe form possible. He had to be in the hospital for almost a month and then had an allergic reaction to the factor 9, which is the thing his body needs to make his blood clot. At one point the doctors sent him home to spend his last few days with his family. His parents have had amazing faith and believed God would take care of their little boy. Well he made it about a week and a half at home before they found he had fluid in his chest. So he had to go back into the hospital and have chest tubes and now an abdomin shunt. He had to go in for more surgury on the shunt on Monday and that is a picture of him as hes recovering. Please pray for Elijah and his family as his struggle continues. It has been a rollercoaster and his parents are so strong, but it has to be so hard. He will almost be 3 months old and have only been at home for almost 10 days of it. It is also hard because the hospital he is at is 3 and a half hours from here and they have been there this stay for almost a month. Plus, they still have to figure out how to handle his hemophlia day to day.On Saturday, we actually took our Youth Group that we lead along with the Fitzgeralds down to Wichita to see them. They are staying at the Ronald McDonald house (which is such an amazing place) and Elijah was having such a greatday that day. Here is a picture of the gowns and masks the kids and us had to wear just to go in his room. The kids actually loved their gowns.

Happy Birthday Gregg!

Today is my brother Gregg's 23rd Birthday, so Happy Birthday Gregg. Just imagine I'm there singing your favorite Tom Chapin birthday song. I had a good time with the preschoolers today teasing them about how it is my baby brothers b-day. Some guessed that he was 3 or 4 and to see their faces when I told them he was 23, they were so surprised. Here are some pictures of our favorite brother.
Gregg has a great sense of humor and is crazy fun. He is great to be around. I love him lots!
