My First Week

Here are some of the many exciting things that we and Eve got to experience during her first week home from the hospital.

On Friday we took Eve to the local hospital to be reevaluated for her Jaudice. The doctor thought it would go down and really be no issue, but her numbers shot up, so she needed to spend almost all her time with the belly-rubin blanket to help it go down. She had to go in and get her heel pricked everyday until Monday when it finally went down enough to go off the blanket. We are glad she has healed and no longer have to go in.

On Sunday, she got to experience her first Father's day. Her dad had the priviledge of getting up and taking her to the hospital bright and early for the test before church. Then we went to church and Tyler held her the whole time and looked very proud. He won the newest father award and a package of diapers. After church we had some of his family over for lunch and then they got to bring us over a refridgerator from his grandparents rental after our died that night. Tyler got to spend the whole day at home with us which was great because now it is harvest and we barely see him.

On Monday me and Mom and Aunt Natalie had to take Eve to her first doctor's appointment. We were so happy to learn that she had not lost weight since she left the hospital but actually gained about 7 onces. She let the doctor pock and test her and did not cry at all. We then took her all around town as we had to run errands. She slept through almost all the trips and the longness of the day took more of a toll on me than her.
Yesturday we gave her her first bath. It was
supposed to be a sponge bath since her cord had not fallen off yet. She was ok sitting in the tub before the water started to make her cold and wet. As most babies she pretty much just screamed the whole time. As I was trying to warm her up afterwards she did the honor of peeing all over me and the towel. Good thing she is so adoreable because who could be mad at that face, especially like the one at the top.

That's what we did her first week home without the details of the feeding, sleeping, and pooping which happens all the time. Tyler did begin to cut our wheat on Sunday and will be busy doing that for the next week or so. I am blessed to have my mom here to help me out and be here when Tyler can not be here to help at all. Its nice to have some one throughout the day to keep me company and sane.

Here's Eve!

Here is our newest arrival, Miss Eve Elaine Rider. She was born on June 12 at 11:41am after four long hours of pushing and the help of some forceps. She was also sunny-side up which helped to further delay her entrance and helped solidify her name (as she cause me great labor pains like the original Eve did for all us women). Considering all that, she only has a small bruise on her forhead and a really nice shaped head. She scored an 8/9 on her tests and has been a great baby. Everyone seems to not be able to believe all the hair she has on her head. She has very dark eyes which aren;t brown yet but probably will be. She weighed 7lb and 4 oz and is 20 and 3/4 in long. We were able to come home from the hospital yesturday and it has taken me some time to post about this. I had some major tearing from the birth and have some difficulty getting about. People keep asking if I had a c-section because of the way I am moving, which is slow. Please keep her in her prayers as today we found out she has some jaudice. It is fairly normal but they are bringing a special light for her to be under tonight and has even more tests in the moring. It should be fine but as new parents it is still a worry. Here are some more pictures to share.

We are so in Love!

Still Here...

Well I just wanted to update you that I am still sitting here pregnant. I know that I am not due until Saturday, but at this point a girl can hope. Plus my mom wanted me to wait till when she is almost here and that is Wed. so I keep telling the baby that she can come now. In the past few days we have decided on a name finally (but I'm not telling because I don't want to jinx it) and Tyler has the bathroom essentially done and the house is clean. I feel like I am sitting around waiting. I've been going on short walks and making sure I've read all I need and checking for signs of labor, which have really been none, not even a braxton-hicks contraction in a few days. We will have to see.

Less than 2 Weeks!

It is amazing that as I sit here, our little baby is due in less than 2 weeks. I still feel like I have so much to do to get ready, but know she will come when she wants. I am hoping in will be soon, as I am getting more uncomfortable each day. I wonder if they make shoes in double wide because thats what my swollen feet will need soon. Like I was saying, I will be happy if she came anytime now, but the DR thinks she will be pretty punctual. At least the nursery is now pretty much done. Here are a few pictures.

The verse on the wall is Nehemiah 8:10. The crib bumper is not in there yet but will match the curtain. I love the material. We will put letters with her name on them above the crib when she is born and we settle on a final name.

Here's her pink inspired wall.

Tyler's mom made the beautiful quilt and I'm proud to say I put the changer together.

Adventures in Plumbing

I'm so sorry that it has been a while since I posted. I kept telling myself I was doing it and I guess well I wasn't. This past two weeks have been quite a crazy time in our bathroom life. Tyler redid all the 80 year old sewage lines from our upstairs bathroom before he would do the new ones in the basement under the old ones. Well he worked really really hard on it but there were some bumps along the way. At one point we did not have anything but the kitchen sink and that was the way it almost stayed for one night. At least Tyler was able to get the bathtub drain working because that was all we had that night and a very pregnant woman needs something. Well all that is finished with the sewage line because then we were days without a washing machine and to get thru it you have to walk thru the wall studs. To say the least, I can barely fit but we are making it work and hopefully getting done. We know that my mom is coming on the 6th and hope to have so kind of bathroom there or at least something kinda clean and not dusty.

Baby Shower

This weekend we were blessed to have some friends throw us a baby shower. I tried to convince Tyler to let us make it coed, but he wanted nothing to do with that. Anyway it was held at church and was very nice. My friend Michelle made a wonderful cake and if you know me, there is nothing better to me than great icing and it was. We are so blessed and now our only problem is trying to fiqure out what we still need. Here is a picture from the shower. I can not get used to seeing pictures of me with my growing belly. I complain about being large, but Tyler is encouraging and just reminds me its just pregnancy and for a great reason.

Belly Shot

Here is a picture taken about a week and a half ago. If I only still felt that small. The baby is growing and growing and so I am. I am glad that there is only a little over a month left and hey maybe less.
Just a quick update on Elijah. He made it through his surgury, even thought there was so touch and go moments and there have been even more the past two days. Please keep on praying!
